Knights Wanderlust
Beyond South Head
We haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on our list
Like many kiwis, we have a deep-rooted sense of belonging and love for our homeland, but also an innate desire to travel and explore the world. Our connection to the land (whenua), and kaitiaki responsibility is strong. However, this attachment is balanced by an urge to venture beyond our isolated islands.
For those familiar with Aotearoa, you know just how remote our islands are from most other countries. Our geographical isolation has bred a tendency to maximize travel opportunities by trying to visit as many places as possible when we do get the chance to go travel. When we take holidays abroad, we're driven to pack in multiple destinations and cultural experiences, knowing we've had to travel so far from home.
Our love for our homeland's stunning landscapes exists alongside an equal passion to see what lies over the horizon. Despite being enamored with Aotearoa's natural wonders, we're also filled with wanderlust that compels us to roam the world at every opportunity. The vast distance separating New Zealand from other continents only intensifies our desire to embrace the multitude of cultures, sights and adventures available in foreign lands when we do get to travel. We contain a duality - adoration for our home alongside an insuppressible urge to explore globally.
